Why Visit Chautauqua???Its small, its not commercialized, it has appeal to various age groups, its beautiful. Chautauqua Tourists who visit this area find reasons to love it. What are Some of the Greatest Things???I live here in this County and have made my home here for several years but when I go on vacation to a new location and visit other areas, I often end up in places very similar to this one in many ways. Whats great around here is the small town atmosphere, the beauty of the countryside that you see all around you, the lake atmosphere and the unique shops and restaurants. Small communities in the ara such as Mayville, New York and Bemus Point, New York keep visitors inspired to come back over and over again. Its usually because of the special small town atmosphere that tourists love. It's unlike the, busy streets and city commotion found elsewhere. The stores are far from the chain stores and chain restaurants you'll find elsewhere too. That to me is very appealing. Just the idea of being able to visit a place where I can venture out, relax and find new and different places makes it very special. Visits to the area are mostly during the summer months but the other three seasons offer so much too. A trip in the Fall to this area is breathtaking and there are still several things happening to keep tourists busy.
