Chautauqua Lake

My first recollection of Chautauqua Lake is as a child at Lakeside Park in Mayville, NY where I learned to swim. I spent several hours in the water, at the park, and on the tennis courts. The beach front at the park has always been a great place to take the kids and cool off and swim on warm summer days. Several other areas around the lake provide small beach front areas too. Some are private and some are public. Mayville Lakeside Park is a fantastic public park for picnics, swimming, tennis, launching a boat or even holding a reunion.

Do you know whats fun? Boating, sailing, canoeing and kayaking. These are great ways to spend the day on the lake. Several places around the lake provide boat rentals and make it possible for travelers to enjoy these kinds of activities.

Also, the lake is full of fish just waiting to be caught. Well, maybe not but they are plentiful. To find out more about fishing on Chautauqua Lake go to my muskellunge fishing page.
