MAY'S DELI

Where Does The Name Come From

Where does the name of the deli come from. That is what so many people ask.

Here's the Story:

One version of the story is that a town meeting was being held by agents and representatives to decide on several things, one being the naming of the settlement. Many had been suggested but none could be agreed upon. A wife of one of the agents came into the room where the meeting was being held and she was holding a baby. One of the other gentlemen asked what the babies name was. She answered "May". Someone then suggested that the name of the town be named after the baby and call it Mayville. That name was quickly agreed upon and the town was called Mayville.

Another version is that the town was named after the beautiful month of May because it is such a beautiful place.

The name comes from the story of naming the town of Mayville.

Best Known For Their Secret Recipe Italian Sausage

Italian sausage has been a family favorite for many years. But its not just any sausage, its homemade, secret recipe, itailian sausage. For several decades, it has been made in the family kitchen and eaten in so many different ways. It has been put into spaghetti sauce, fried and eaten in rolls at picnics, made into patties and served with eggs and casseroles. It has been served to guests, and given away. Many have come to ask if a batch could be made especially for them.

Now, after so many years, the owner of May's Deli, whose father is the creator of the famous sausage, sells it and sells a lot of it.

Sold in links or in bulk, it is a favorite in the community. It is also delicious in a sub.
